you missed the point though...I have always been an early adopter. I buy at launch , but if I know there will be a 1.5 in two or three year I will hold off and wait. Which is why this is a problem. It will lead to a far smaller install base, which in turn leads to less games long term, and less support, and it just becomes a complete mess
I won't buy a console at launch if I know 3 years from now I can buy the upgraded version and not have to wait for it to have a libr...
The consoles lack power but most people don't care. Developers don't care either since they only have to focus their eyes on 1 or two types of architecture meaning less money spent refining the game, and more time to add little extras(of course recently the little extras are paid dlc aside from CD project red with the glorious everything extra they added just for buying the game.)
They have shown themselves twice already to completely drop support the moment they develop a new console. I don't own any xbox's mainly due to the fact most of my friends don't, but they always drop the ball in the long game. If anyone is going to drop their console and run away with a new waifu it will be Microsoft
No...the answer is no. The point of consoles is to have a fairly secure investment that potentially has at least a 4 year life span. Breaking that trust with consumers will likely lead to the death of the console industry in the long run. Some games take over 2 to three years to produce so shortening the life cycle of the console could really never benefit the industry as a whole. Sales will likely drop dramatically if everyone thinks a 1.5 will release a few years later.

yes of course every game has those 6 lines depending on their two choices(sarcasm), but does that make the game a living world?...No...the answer is no. I love the basis of the games, but the interaction, side quests, ect. are just so one dimensional.
Well people can dislike all they want without an proper retort, but the fact remains the game feels like a barren wasteland when you aren't doing a quest, and when the game ends the 5k citizens that say the same 5 lines kind of get annoying.
