As a reviewer myself, I can assure you this review REEKS of someone who barely scratched the surface of Dissidia, like playing MH:FU for 5 hours and then trying to write a comprehensive analysis.
The editors at Wired should never have let this be published.
This is released the same day as Brutal Legend..definitely a marketing tie-in.
That *would* be interesting...but I'm guessing that the 'big 3' will always hold the keys to distribution on their platforms and want to control everything going through the channels.
My problem with games like these is the repetition without reward. Brawlers haven't aged well and the genre is pretty stale...
I had hope for games like Unbound Saga, but continue to be disappointed. Still, it sounds like you give it the nod of approval after it's been tweaked a bit?
This damn game is the reason I got 4 hours sleep last night. Installed it after doing the writeup - it IS addicting, but you'll need to be all juiced up on caffeine to keep up!
I took his comment as meaning that the particular story angle (as well as some of the gameplay mechanics) look to "borrow" from GRID just a bit.
And yea, I've played NFS since the original on (wait for it) 3DO!
I can't even venture a guess....
...and it's taken about 4 years for people to finally be sad they don't have one. I'm thrilled the PSP is starting to live up to it's promise of great titles. Too little too late, sure, but it's finally worth owning.
Sort of - they made a game called "Last Hope" and this is sort of a Director's Cut if you will. But yea, it's still a new retail release for Dreamcast which rocks.
Yea, starting to learn the same lesson I learned with iPhone games: Wait about a month or two and the price gets slashed!
Yep, definitely looking forward to this one...is the import worth getting or should I wait for the localized version?
i think an unopened copy of the SNES version goes for about $1400. Of course, an unopened copy is a wasted copy, i LOVE this game.
Yes!!! I cannot wait.
Crap, this means I have to buy a Wii before Q1 of 2010..
Wild Woody
Spanky's Quest
Sticky Balls
Booby Kids
Wargasm
Those are a bit obscure, but you can make blatant sex jokes on TV and say several curse words repeatedly, so I don't think having "badass" in a title is going to affect sales.
If anything, it'll BOOST sales :-)
Yea, Atlus is a severely under-appreciated publisher. Then again, perhaps it's a GOOD thing their games don't appeal to the masses, right?
Well, look at it this way. Paying $10 to play Magic on XBLA is UBER CHEAPER than paying to play it in real life :)
Kotaku has a funny story about that...

This is quality list, emphasis on quality. There would have been some 'safer/easier' choices, but they were avoided.
Good stuff, especially Flower...
A fully destructible sandbox on Mars? Sure, I'll bite.
But I hope the review mentions the length of the single player campaign, that's usually something that makes the decision easier.
Point n click games have come a loooong way since Myst. Plus, this one's got a lot of personality...
