I think sony was prepared for each way the ps3 could turn out. No business will launch a product and only prepare for it to sell like hotcakes and have no back up plan. believe me, i dont think the sales are as surprising to sony as some people seem to think.
it's not hard to crush another console in sales when you count repairs as sold to consumers.

Themart, you are so wrong on the 360 numbers its not funny. It is known that the 360 just reached 10 mil sold, And who knows how many the red ringers count for. I mean the 360 had a whole year of sales with no one competing, it had supposed supply constraints. You really cant call the ps3 a failure since it is so close with the 360 in sales and it released with cheaper competition.

Just to tell you, there are games that have sold more than halo. And games that are in the same category that are far superior. I'm not taking away anything from halo because it is a successful console shooter. But if it was released on any other platform it wouldn't of been as popular as it is now. It hit gold being released on the Xbox.
I think the only reason halo got succesful is because it was released on the xbox. had it been released on ps2 or pc it wouldnt of been even close to the success on xbox. On ps2 it would of been another average game, on pc it would of been a average/ to below average shooter. But it certainly did hit gold being on the original xbox when there werent that many games out for it. So for that i give bungie and microsoft all the credit.

i agree this is a crappy article. how can you say the psp failed when it captured a part of the market that was nintendo's. And it's sold quite a few.
