Exactly what I said. Which is not surprising at all. You wait one year to have something on par with PS4 Pro. Then you wait another 1-2 years for you to see a difference. Then PS5. Which makes Scorpio useless pile of garbage in terms of graphics compared to PS5 as soon as it even shows its potential a little.
These two consoles don't allow for innovation all that much as much as PS3 and Xbox 360 did over the generation before it. People don't know this that much but Cell in PS3 is actually on par as a CPU inside the PS4. The only thing they can do is use the extra horsepower in graphics card that means. The extra memory, the extra cores in the CPU, the faster memory. However it's not as huge a jump from the last generation. So we probably won't see much innovation until next genera...
Innovate doesn't need to be the case here. Most open world games it emulates are not innovative themselves. They don't get knocked for that. What it is refined is this genre to shined polish. When a game does that? The refined polish should always supercede the innovative aspect. That's where the other scores that are coming in at 10 and 9 recognize. It's about polish sometimes. This is the most gorgeous, playable, not broken open world ever created.
Lesson learned. Do not put new people who have never reviewed a big game before to review the biggest game of the year. This is why nobody knows about USGamer. Got this rookie reviewer who drops the ball. Then you alienated a group of gamers because they don't trust your site now.
89 Metacritic score from 79 reviews say otherwise. The new ones are usually 9, 9.5, 10 scores so that score could end up in the low 90's when it's all said and done. It's in classic game territory already no matter which way you argue it.
You just put down every Oblivion game, Mass Effect, and Witcher. You described those games.
OK I stand corrected. A few more great scores have brought it back up to 89. All the new scores are 9.5 to 10 so it could end up over a 90 anyway.
To survive one score of 50 and still have a 88 average is a immensely great reception. I really wish that no name company had been a little more normal with their score. This games average was drug down from a solid 90 without it. That makes it practically one of the best games ever. I think it must be special to review that well.
This is the next Zelda level franchise for Sony. It's doing that well in reviews.
Wow the next franchise to rival Uncharted? I'm very pleased with every review. Even the lone bad one is so off base it brings me confidence it is from a less than credible source. This game is really good I'm sure. Can't wait to play it.

Then it's 3 years already. PS5 is right around the corner and nobody cares that there is a graphics difference because a next generation console is launching soon.
