Yes. That was the way I liked it. I could still go back to CoD4 and play it for hours and hours because of how much fairer it is.

Actually, it's not a bad system to work on. If you go any lower than 7/10 then you're getting glitchy experiences. There's a good reason they count how well it plays towards the score, otherwise games like fallout would be getting 10/10s when they're very glitchy. That kind of thing should definitely be scored.

Yeah, a point system reflects taste so someone might not even like a 10/10 game. It may be a 10/10 to the person playing it but if you don't like that genre you wouldn't to enjoy it.
A scoring system is necessary to indicate quality at a glance, I suppose to people who don't have time to read reviews. People might just want to read the pros and cons and see the final score and a lot of sites do that. I like that method.

Nah I had one, played crisis core then realised I didn't really want any of the other games out at the time and traded it in for a DS.
Dragon age 2 is a hybrid and a damn good one at that. This was bound to happen as developers got more power to work with. Gamers expect more than a simple turn-based battle system when they have next gen graphics.
Could you imagine a game like say Final fantasy 1 on a next gen system? The graphics would look great but the battles would feel out of place because as the graphics become more life-like so should be the whole feel of the game "apparently".
