Its not a update. Its apart of the game. Its always been like this. Just timed events. They do it for Halloween too.
During Christmas time killed enimies will drop Christmas presents. Which are the same as goodie bags. They have some vanity, weapons, building blocks and the frost legion spanwers which is just a snow globe.
Nothing new. Already built in the game.
