That's the thing bro.
The companies wouldn't want any and all types of expansions to be compatible, THEY DON'T want to make a PC. They want to upgrade their Product ONCE each generation, to keep it relevant for a longer time without going back to the drawing board to make a completely new system at high cost for Research and Development etc... they would want ONE type of proprietary expansion, for example:
PS4+ 8 gb of GDDR5...
I think that these companies just need to make more future proof versions of their consoles (like maybe making them cost 1,000 dollars, but make them have more power than you could possibly "need" during that gen) OR, maybe make these consoles built with external hardware expansions for ram/storage/gpu's add-ons in mind, that can be bought later if a console is suffering impaired visual fidelity, or suffering form storage limits.

I don't think these simple screens of what looks like a more gray than usual Cryengine game deserve anywhere NEAR as much praise as they are getting.

199.99 is stupid to pay when you can pay 399.99 for a PS4 or Xbox one.
I've never understood handhelds being over 150 bucks, not worth it. Especially when you get games released for about 39.99... Just get a console. I understand the desire for a few titles, but I haven't been big into handhelds ever since smartphones have gotten bigger on the scene.
