I personally LOVED FFVII, but when you get down to it, no remake could ever reproduce the way I felt when I played it the first time. Think of Twin Snakes vs the original MGS1 when it came out in the late 90s. MGS was amazing and revolutionary, and Twin Snakes was very very good, yet it just couldn't get me to laugh as hard at psycho mantis or to be as angry when meryl was shot. Treyarch is obvious, and I would say DICE too. And if Pandemic and Free Radical were around, I think they would both be capable (seeing as how CoD is really about multiplayer and those guys were fantastic at that)

I bought a launch 60GB bundle with Gengi and another Sixaxis for $700. I never had a PS2 so b/c was a big deal to me, since all of a sudden I could play Final Fantasy XII, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud, SotC, etc. Two of my friends just bought PS3 slims on black friday, so they spent $299, got 60GB more space than me, Dark Night, Arkham Asylum and inFamous but they dont have backwards compatability.

It seems to me like they are just trying to make their mark on metacritic--and obviously for the hits. I mean, they make their money off of ads, and if they don't get tons of hits then they don't get much money. I think we keep forgetting its a business and that this is their way of getting paid and feeding the family.
Not that it deserves anything less than 10s, but I certainly understand why you would do this.
the exterior is Forza's epitome. I'd like to see some interior views: thats where NFS really shines. The interiors surpass even the ones that were in GT, IMHO.
Shift also has a far superior sense of speed than Forza, and I'd have to say GT also. Its the first racing sim I have played that actually feels like driving feels. If it had more than 60 cars (20 less than Prologue) I would have bought it by now.
The PSPGo is all about form before function, not the other way around. Its just that Sony is doing it all backwards: the PSP had tons of function and very functional form, and the DS Lite was more attractive to look at but did less. Metal Gear games always have their own theme, Snake Eater being the best example of this. However there is also a series theme--the general Metal Gear theme--that recurs through the games as well. I'm not surprised at this. I just want to know if this new song will be on par (or perhaps better?) than calling to the night, the other MGS theme this composer is responsible for.
Sure, it is a PSP game. Its designed for a stint here and a track there. I'm really relatively pleased with the quality of the game. But, like Halo, it just doesn't live up to the price. If it were $20 I would pick it up day one. But no, its twice that. That money will just go toward GT5 now, which will only be $20 more for 200 more cars and who knows what else.
But why compare them at all? GT5: P was excellent and so was Forza 2. Compare THEM for poly count and physics and whatnot. GT5 has been kept almost entirely under wraps with only occasional screenshots leaking onto the web and any video is just shakycam of that same Ford. The author should have just waited a week, because all we know about GT is the number of cars. Thats it.
This is true, really. EA used to be viewed as a really money hungry company with all kinds of annoying in game advertising and whatnot, but since Burnout Paradise and Rock Band they seem to be calming down a bit and focusing a bit more on what they are: a company that sells entertainment, which is something thats hard to do when you call your customers idiots (I'm looking at you Kotick)
Very true. And besides, Solid has gray eyes, while Big Boss had blue eyes. And the guy in the picture? Blue eyes. The facial features are more Big Bosses than Solid's as well, especially around the mouth. Solid has a much narrower Jaw.
As for the patch, it is extremely similar to Outer Heavens original logo of the flying skull, and we have to remember that he turned Foxhound INTO Outer Heaven, or rather it became a part of the greater whole.
