Blu ray has special coating that protects the discs. And there are many games that dont require install like MW2 and stuff.

Halo reach and GT5 are exclusives so they can't "crush" each other.
360 will be crushed in japan and EU with GT5 most probably and PS3 has 32 million consoles right now, so PS3 is safe this gen thats an awesome install base which will only rise.
they will use some diff format for next xbox, but blu ray isnt needed for them since they are selling consoles well this gen. but the quality of games well thats obiviously on the PS3.
