It went Gold on July 19 & I saw previews/impressions on 25/26 July.
You have to control the car camera, you can't shift the side your aiming from, always the right side. The first act area looks blandish, it could possibly change later on but I can't comment on that like we're talking about 2010 game design.
Maybe what's been off-putting has been the marketing team for this game but I'll wait for the reviews to drop and we'll see :p
