No you can clone it like you clone regualr drives just need a pc and or external means to clone the xbox data to your new nvme. You can get cheap gen 3 external nvme to usb to clone.
There are guides online that walk you through it the software is free like samsung magic or acronis (various brands)

Again i am talking about internal storage the ps5 has a shelf life when the internal drive dies the console gets trashed.
Both consoles has a external upgrade path yes ps5 is the best one but the xbox though yes its not easy atleast allows you to swap internal before going the way of there dump plug in drives.
Both should be like last gen were you can swap the drive with ease every sony console sense ps2 had a easy upgrade dr...

Just like sony tossing horizon on the switch xbox also sees the potential to double dip for sure.
I do not see xbox past next gen i think in the 2030's xbox will be just a publishing company if not next gen if you look at there console sales it would make sense to also not toss a console out next gen and just focus on software as they are making way more cash on software than hardware.
