yeah, it might be like adding salt to a wound...but if it helps ensure this doesn't happen again so be it. When you see them side by side it really is a train wreck.
Especially when it came to game of the year. I mean, seriously, there is nothing that could touch Uncharted 2.
Nice award show feel to the video! I especially liked the nominees for worst screen tearing...haha. Keep up the good work and happy 2010!
But unfortunately visuals alone don't make a good game. Hopefully, Ubisoft will continue to develop this engine for future, non-movie based projects. It seems to do very well cross-platform.
It just goes to show that a game is just as good as the artists and programmers who work on it. And it looks like Bungie did some upgrading in that department. A good example of this is God of War 2 on the PS2, that game looked phenomenal on the aging platform. Was it due to the power of the system...no. It was because the developer had a very talented art team and clever programmers to squeeze out some extra horsepower. We are seeing the same thing with the Bungie team now.
Not really, seems consistent with their previous comparisons. And they did raise a valid question, are graphics and loading worth the cost of performance?
This line made me laugh:
"...in 2009 the majority of multiplatform releases are either the same or better on the PS3 console."
Are you serious? How did you figure that one out? It really is simple when it comes to cross-platform development. Let me lay this out for you:
If the PC version is the lead sku, it will port to the Xbox 360 nicely then to the PS3. The Xbox 360 version would be the lead console sku. So the best the PS3 could do is tie.

I love how everyone posts the http://www.cynamite.de/ link as if they are 100% truthful. It is called adjusting the in game gamma, LoT left all game settings default like they always do and http://www.cynamite.de adjusted each system to match.
So, if you are adjusting which one is correct? The washed out PS3 or the overly contrasted Xbox 360. Last I remember it isn't up to...
Man, that really sucks. I wish the best to all of the people affected by the layoffs, especially with the holidays coming around the corner.
Funny thing is that they don't judge based on the color differences, as that can be fixed with in game settings. Everything is judge with straight out of the box settings so they are on equal playing field. Don't hate because Infinity Ward jacked the default settings up on the PS3.
Color differences aside, the Xbox 360 version is the winner, but not by much.
Having played the game, you have the ability to adjust gamma. It looks like cynamite.de did tweaks on both systems to make the colors match.
Well there was a huge shipping snafu for Dragon Age in America and most places still haven't received their PS3 versions. I suspect sometime next week we will start to see more comparisons.
A little late to the game, but better late then never. It is good to see that their comparison corroborated Lens of Truth's visual findings. Basically a tie. But I know that the fanboys will still find something to argue about.
hmm, this is pretty crappy. Party chat is one of my favorite features. Maybe they are trying to reduce bandwidth?
I think this is bit of a stretch. If UC2 should be compared to anything on the Xbox 360 it would be Alan Wake. But who knows when that will be out.
Right...clearly better. It is sad how many times this has been said over many threads on the internet. Fact, Tekken 6 does look better on the PS3 when you turn off motion blur. Otherwise, visually comparable.
And as for Borderlands, only the N4G PS3 fanboys will agree with you. Plain and simple, the Xbox 360 version looks closer to the PC. And PC is the benchmark.
"And they clearly don't understand what the Full/Limited range option is about."
That fact that you think limited is the right choice proves that you know nothing about this. Limited is used primarily for older TV's where the standard black level range is 16-235. Full on the other hand is to be used on HDTV's (as long as it supports it) and is 0-255. /facepalm
yeah, I would love to add the dagger to my entertainment room display case. I just hope that it is a better build quality than the uber cheap Batarang from Arkham Asylum.
not full of crap...consistent. They take an out of the box approach to comparing games. Unwrap, drop in and play. They did the additional install and it did help in speed. But if you are playing online, you can't bet on everyone installing and so prepare to wait longer.
I still can't grasp as to why Namco made the install optional on the PS3 in the first place. Did you see how long it took to load in the video! I could go and make a sandwich in that time. Mmm....sandwich.
...
Seriously! I would love to get a cheap copy of Bioshock 2!!! I wonder what the angle is on this offer? I mean, this game is going to sell a ton even at full price.
