Nintendo is the best first party game developer today, they don't rely heavily on 3rd party support and they don't need to. It is a shame Nintendo has became more niche this generation. I was not a fan of the wii but the Wii-U is an excellent console (which is unfortunately shadowed by X1 / PS4 fanboy wars).
Creative and imaginative games, in my opinion, is lacking slightly this generation. Nintendo is the best place to go to find these types of games.

It depends who you ask really. All you need to know is all systems are selling exceptionally well.
The big thing to remember is software. Digital game sales are not included in software charts, which makes software sales tracking now obsolete to me. Considering I own maybe 6 discs and around 30 digital games across PS4 and Xbox One, I can't take software sales charts seriously. Granted, it gives an idea.
