Apparently they felt there was another community out there doing the job better already, so they decided to focus on the website. Shame, but suppose it happens!

Ah, nvm; looks like they're shutting the mag down according to their Patreon.

Nice write-up! I'll make sure to check them out.

You know, one thing I'd love to see is the ability to change the controls around. I want to press a trigger to accelerate, not just hold my thumb down the whole time...is that so much to ask?

Awesome review! I agree; being in 1st place is definitely a downer because there's so little to do.

I really wish there was a way to tweak the controls a bit, though; I'd love the accelerator to be on a trigger instead of the A button. It's a pretty minor thing, but I got some serious thumb fatigue... :)

Keep up the awesome work!

I'm excited to see Nintendo push further into the online landscape, but it's sure sad to see them go the Season Pass route...

Great to see the perspectives of multiple developers in one place. Many articles love to bash the dev environment for the long, killer hours and terrible conditions, but it was nice to read about the situations going on straight from the horse's mouth, so-to-speak.

I wonder how the CoD fanbase will take it if the game itself feels more like Titanfall. I can play Titanfall and do pretty well on average in matches, but I get wrecked in CoD because the gunplay mechanics and movement are very different. Sure, I expect there'll be some minor tweaks/modifications in the CoD formula for Advanced Warfare, but I wouldn't count on anything TOO revolutionary...

Also, Activision, PLEASE BRING BACK SURVIVAL SPEC OPS. I HEART IT.

I have to admit, casual games that fuse RPG elements get me every time on mobile...I spent a decent amount of time on Slot Revolution from Konami, but I couldn't bring myself to spend money on it because it felt too random...

Maybe that's just what happens when you play a slot machine game... :)

That's interesting...I wonder if they'll do a race-related study as well. I know that when I play RPGs and they give me the option, I'm much more likely to play a Black/dark-skinned character.

Unless it's Dark Souls. Because that looked INCREDIBLY DUMB.

Well, actually, even in Dark Souls. I just make sure to look at the face as infrequently as possible... sigh.

Good luck, Nintendo. This is going to be a critical year for you.

WHY IS THIS NOT IN AMERICA YET.

As much as I want to see the Wii U flourish, I have to admit that it's pretty much just because of my love of 1st-party Nintendo titles. My Wii U's collecting dust next to my PS4, 360, and PC...hopefully Smash and Mario Kart will change that, but for how long?

That being said, at least as far as I'm concerned, I don't know that figurines aren't the way to revive my interest in Nintendo. Still, can't knock how successful Skylanders has been.

Funny, after reading the post I kinda got the feeling you really weren't that impressed with the game, or that maybe it's a little further from perfect than the title would suggest...

I totally agree about Outlast, though. Watched someone play that at E3 last year; that was petrifying.

I've picked up Titanfall for 360...It's not the same as playing it on the One, but it's still pretty well playable. I had some matchmaking issues, but that generally seems to be the case with day one shooters.

As far as the framerate is concerned, there definitely are some dips, some of which seemed to affect gameplay. There is a 30hz mode that I'll try later, and I'll post gameplay videos later tonight.

I like the idea of games that both challenge and raise awareness... I hope this type of gaming evolves in the future.

Deep story to tell, and a great reflection piece.

Appreciate it, KingKellogg. I definitely would like to see companies come up with some strategy for communities to continue supporting the games they love instead of having to jump through hoops to recreate games...

Interesting write-up, but I think it'd help the article if you mentioned possible alternatives, or tried to explain more of the situation.

When you think about it realistically, when we're paying for a game (keep in mind many of your examples like MGS and Resistance still have single-player modes), we're paying for a certain amount of time with that game associated with upkeep as well. When you buy a car, you don't pay the money expecting for it to run forever;...
