Haha, this looks great! Definitely gonna keep a lookout for this. I'm not really into being a cheap-ass, but a free to play model is a good way to test out the game. That way, people won't ditch the game because they could always just buy the game this is more likely-than-not based off of.
I feel one of the biggest mistakes was calling Nintendo's new home console the "Wii U". Sounds too similar to the old Wii, and doesn't spark a sense of "new gen" to me. Often, the simplest things can really change everything.
I tried to skip over the small chunk of spoiler for "last of Us" since I haven't played it, but from what I understand, its not the game that is bad, its the concept and where it's headed. And by concept I don't mean the game content, but the idea of how the company might go "series" a la Call of Duty. They were great (at first), but it later becomes pretty much the same thing, just a money maker with no intentions of creating an iconic impact. Kinda like a goo...
I wish there was [even] a rumor of some sort of Dragon Quest game coming up at this year's E3. Well then, I guess I'll just make one!
If by too long you mean you want the game, you should consider importing the PC version once its out. I've been enjoying the beta, and will definitely import. If you don't know Japanese, you can still enjoy the game with online guides and stuff. Quite a few people from Woodus (site) play the game and you can tag along and get help with your online mode. I will also get the localized version when its out.
This game is fine as it is. I've been playing the beta, and its super fun. The one thing I would agree on is to make it F2P on overseas release but I would still pay if I had to. I'm thinking on importing the PC version once its out, since its the easiest to set up with a VPN for online play.
Those bathing suits, rawr
Any mention of multiplayer of any kind? I've grown acustomed to multiplayer games, and I probably won't get it unless it does, considering I'm on a budget :P
I nearly cried in various parts of Dragon Quest V, and those were just sprites with no fancy 3D animation or anything. Pretty sad to hear what sounds like close-minded thinking, coming from 2 people who should be as open minded as possible. Back to the Future is still my favorite film, but story wise and from personal experience, video games tend to give me a deeper and more meaningful story experience.
Video games aside, if I wanted a good story, I would read a book, not wat...
Hadn't seen the Catmario game before, but it is a funny coincidence.
I hope at some point Square Enix they announce something on Dragon Quest, given that the Square Enix Channel were talking about it the first few minutes.
Seems hectic and fun, my type of game.
Aw man, my kind of game! Definitely going to add this to my "can't afford now, but I'll get it soon" list.
