I agree with the article. The achievement points are a very clever idea from MS. I don't play on Live because I don't want to shell out 50USD. I just play my 360 games offline and the more I buy games the more I earn these points. I already have 2030 gamerscore just by playing offline.
Majority of the consumers are not aware of the technology involved in the unit they plan to buy. The best way to counter this is to hire salesman who is not biased and knows full well the technology of the products they sell. They must explain it in layman's term so the average consumer can understand.
I tried playing with my two nephews (aged 5 and 7) with their Wii. They really playing the bowling and tennis. But I never liked it because I wanted a game that is a visual feast like Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Uncharted and Rachet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction.

My 360 was manufactured November 29, 2005, what do you think was the brand of disk drive? My 360 is almost two years old and never scratched any disks. There are times it can't read some disk but I just reload them until it can read them.
Does the 360 has CMOS battery? Because the date and time always reset to factory defaults when I turn it on.
My GOTY are:
360=Bioshock
PS3=Uncharted
PC=Crysis
Wii= (can't mention since I don't have one)
I think it's about time to give GOTY to each platform. You really cannot name a single GOTY based from different platform. Unless the game is multi-plat than runs on each system. In the end, I think COD4 will take the award.
I just don't like the Wii, the console is last gen. I'm happy with my 360 and PS3. Both consoles have good line up of games over the next couple of years. I just hope MS won't ditch the 360 when they introduce a newer version of their console.

than ME. ME has photorealistic characters but the graphics quality is bland and grainy. The gameplay and AI is very terrible. To top it all it is very boring. Oblivion is much better than ME. The last game that I bought for my 360 that I really enjoyed is Bioshock. Bioshock is way enjoyable than ME. Uncharted > ME & Bioshock.
this game is so beautiful on hdtv. Wish ps3 or game has the functionaliy to capture scenes. I'd love to save it for desktop wallpapers or XMB background.
my xbox360 which was manufactured November 29, 2005 is still working. My 360 went into RROD thrice and I usually check that the cables are firmly plugged at the back of unit and then manually restart the 360 (replug the power cord to my avr then turn the avr on).
Sorry guys, I just played the game for three hours and found out it's overly hyped game. The first thing you will notice is the grainy picture. This grainy effect is similar to the movie 300. The aiming system sucks especially the sniper gun. Rent this one first before you decide to buy. Get the Halo3 and Bioshock in case you still haven't bought it.
this game is worth it's price. i've played the demo and i was so amazed by it. i hope this game will be available here in the philippines soon. i will buy the R&C FTOD this week.
