Overall, I was generally disappointed by the sub-hd nature of Vanquish which I played on the 360 (blurry all-around). But I guess they had to sacrifice some visual flare to keep all that action at a quick pace. For such an HD generation it's annoying to find so many titles sporting this look.
No, insecure is someone who instantaneously accuses a new user for having multiple accounts when one opinion favors the side of another person you were just arguing with. I came to N4G with strong opinions because I've always had thoughts about the general favoritism on this website for one particular company and I don't try to hide this.
You can accuse me of having multiple accounts if you will though, nothing I do will change an opinion that's based on a bel...
What in the hell are you talking about. Every new user that comes to this site that shares a difference in opinion of the majority is suddenly considered a multi-user? get over your insecure self o_O. Next time check our post history's and writing styles before making such baseless accusations.
MS never openly stated with confidence that they didn't need those features so your point is mute. Releasing an affordable entry console was the objective and it worked unlike the Ps3's initial price point. The fact is that Blu-ray as a format truly isn't needed in the gaming realm this gen and with the advent of the PS3 being jailbroken, it's being proven as you see quite a few exclusive titles being in the 5-7 gig range.
We can give you the Uncharted serie...
Remember that this quote was taken from an investors meeting and what do investors care about more then anything else? a return of that investment (as in profit). With his comment he's still ignoring developers like Valve and Blizzard which is completely ridiculous and makes him look like a grade A dick. But when it comes to turning in a hefty profit, Bungie is indeed high up the latter. You can't say that about your average independent developer. Although without the Halo brand, I...
I can see MS making some considerable headway in the future if they continue the push and become more aggressive from a financial aspect (they have the money to do it), but it just doesn't seem likely with the Xbox360 specifically. The term dominate also seems very unlikely and it's not something even MS would say themselves when they have to compete with the Japanese behemoth that is Nintendo. (just a title for attracting hits).
By that logic the same can be said about Sony's console, despite the "variety", much of those titles that have nothing to do with the shooting category don't translate into sales even comparable to the average shooter on either console. If we went by your flawed meaning, to be reliant would mean that it wouldn't be able to survive from a financial perspective (without that said genre) and if that's true then the same can be said about the PS3 by simply pointing you ...
All companies are like this, they take what is a narrow and flawed argument and blow it out of proportion to suit there stature. Despite what the majority around here would like you to believe. Anyway, judging by the disagrees on my post it seems that I struck a cord. Only on N4G can a rational person more often the not equate disagrees with something good and truthful.
So because the 360's best selling games are shooters, this instantly means it's all they have to offer? (just like the damn PS3, check out a chart and don't be surprised to find the top selling PS3 titles to fall under the "shooter category")
The 360 isn't only reliant on shooters like this is implied, it's reliant on a combination of factors which includes multi-console titles and the power of the Xbox Live brand (XBLA titles included, and the m...
What the hell are you talking about, Demon's Souls was approximately 5.57 gigs in size so no, this is hardly a FF13 situation where more then half of a damn game contained non-interactive HD video o_O.
I also don't care you who are, at the end of the day you're expected to make money and after realizing how much of a critical success Demon's Soul's was, you can't blame any company for wanting to go multi-platform, especially with MS doing so well in th...
@Skrug
Extra content gets left out of titles due to pacing and balancing issues all the time, it still doesn't support the argument that it was specifically gimped because of an Xbox 360 limitation. Let's imagine that this was in fact the case however. Why not put some of this extra content on an extra disc in the 360's case, Lost Odyssey was perfectly fine with four discs. Also, why not introduce this through DLC like it was previously promised? The fact is ...
Read that review and tell me with a straight face that it wasn't lazy and intentionally half assed in its delivery just to receive some hits from an ill explained 6/10 score. You sure picked a blatantly obvious bad review to voice such an opinion and anyone can see the immediate flaws regardless of whether or not you like the series or not. You gotta work on your timing o_O.
Please, FFXIII just followed an incredibly linear path the series has been going down under since 10. But I'd love for some of these same fans to list some credible aspects that were actually gimped from the final version instead of talking out of there asses for a change.
You should be buying these titles to enjoy the experiences they provide while ignoring the ridiculous theories behind a development process you know absolutely nothing about. Instead, gamers like you use these games as some sort of artificial bragging rights against alternative gamers to make you feel good about your preferred console purchase. How do you people even enjoy Videogames with such a twisted mentality towards entertainment o_O. The fact that you have more agree's right now ...
Then the first 13 minutes of uncharted 2 must be just as boring (which is completely ridiculous). This game seems to borrow heavily from UC2's cinematic presentation. A lot of platforming, along with quite a few exilerating moments, minimal enemies, great camera work and animations to boot. You really have to be kidding with a statement like that. I'd really like to know what you find amazing as an introduction to a Videogame because no title pulls all its cards out in the first ...
So you'd rather have ridiculous randomness in comparison to eye appealing semi predictableness with your car damage? I don't know, for a racing game that focuses so much on realism, seeing the hood of my car resembling some sort of cartoony mess would take me right out of the experience if it happened often enough.
I don't know how any sane person can deny how bad the pictures we've been shown so far look when it comes to an attempt at realistic damage (I don't care how much you love the GT series). Every car looks like it was been dumped in hot lava which would explain why every vehicle looks like it had its textures stretched in some sort of ridiculous fashion. I'm also still waiting for some video footage of an actual crash taking place (and the aftermath), hopefully things will loo...
I, along with others outside of this site have stated perfectly logical reasons why they earn that respect, if you choose to ignore those said reasons then that is your democratic choice, but you can't ignore the facts.
Also, Sony and Nintendo have as much respect for each other as Sega and Nintendo had during the "Nintendont" days, did you completely forget the N64 - PS1 era? or the PSP vs DS discussions between the two? Give me a break, realize that this i...
The general response to this article falsely insinuates that MS has had a large number of first party studios that they just seemed to loose, when the truth is that they never had that many to begin with. Many of these so called studios that left MS were PC specific in their direction like Ensemble Studios (Age of kings). The only major companies were Bungie, Rare, Lionhead and Turn10. The fact is that MS was largely successful last gen as far as exclusives were concerned due to the majo...
Well I have no problems admitting to the possibility that the "support" they received from MS is the same kind of "support" I'd like directed towards my wallet. After all, like another poster mentioned, I don't recall ever having to pay for a present.
