As much as i hate to say it the 360 is NOT future proof. The highest capacity media storage unit is the 1995 DVD, and the amount of energy it uses and the noise can be easily fixed with a new console, a step Microsoft will likely state as an improved feature.
But for the time being ill just enjoy Halo/Forza until twilight dawns with a newer breed of friendly, more docile gamers in the new gaming era.
Atm theres only like 800,000 Xbox 360 systems bought in Japan alone, This game (Monster Hunter) got its name and fanbase set predominantly in Japan, requires a monthly fee which many people simply do not like paying and also its not guaranteed that all 360 user even have internet connectivity, let alone the fact they like MH.
Globally i dont think itll live longer than 1-2 yrs, servers going to bought down in no time. My only consoles the 360 and ur going to have to rob me if you...
I have a feeling i could put Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3/Xbox) under this thread, it was incredibly hyped by SEGA with all of its trailers and video depicting only the fastest and most streamlined areas of gameplay, but the end result was as good as Shadow the Hedgehog (zero), Sonic Heroes (zero) and Sonic 3D (zero) combined, NOTHING.

Sept its called PlayTV for the PS3...
It can pause, rewind, fast forward and record HD content while playing a movie/game or even another channel.
It even has the wireless PSP function to view the same channel streamed through the PSP screen. We dont have trophy support tho.
So whats the big deal? I heard this came out in 2008 in the UK, its coming out in 2010 for JPN and its everything weve already got sept with potential TROPHY SUPPORT.

Also ive played this on my friends 360, i dunno what people are talking abt controlling a a 3PS with a gamepad so much more tricker than it is with a mouse, and it takes FOREVER to finish customizing your characters, all those PC options for lighting are gone, IMO the console version is significantly worse than its PC counterpart.

I bought Umbrella Chrons and Ghost Squad but thats about it. Both games are awesome, and the graphics are surprisingly good since the lack of free movement allows developers to refine what the player does see, giving the illusion everything looks crisper.
I am a fan of the genre but even so id only ever buy 2-3 games of that, i have 2 FPS's, 2 Platformer, 1 Fighting, 3 Shoot em ups and 2 Rail Shooters.
Meh weve grown numb to it already, Mother 3 never crossed the Pacifc either and again another dedicated group of souls manage to translate everything to flawless English.
But for games like the above it really is the choice of the developer, you cant blame it squarely on Nintendo.

Mathematics isnt the problem here, the problem is with such rounded figure you are virtually always going to have some left over MS pts which will not only entice you to buy more stuff from XBL but is worthles otherwise, it cannot be exchanged back for cash.
Both Sony and Nintendo have their financial transactions linked directly to ones bank account or credit/debit card, you will only spend however much anything costs.

They couldve made Maya a representative for the PW series and create a move set based on magic and spell casting. Like her green gem necklace would hover a bit and her melee attacks with have a bit of a purple aura around them.
Speed Racer could have his skill set based on dashes, and he could headbutt using his helmet and throw it at enemies.
WOuldve also liked to see the KNight from Ghosts and Goblins included, and maybe a monter from Monster Hunter. But then again...
I'd be surprised too, but i thought the more players youd have the less processing youd have for each individual player, and place more of the burden on the servers themselves. So its their technical networking genius that made it possible.

Instead of this 30 day crap they shouldve just made the DLC 50c cheaper than the PC/PS3 version, Microsoft wouldve generally used the same amount anyway and wed be able to get the same content at a lower price thanks to the higher install base on the 360.
Think MS was a bit too eager to capitalise on our loyalty and install base of this, and i personally think its money wasted. As reluctant as I am to say this i dont see Sony making any brash actions like this.
