as much as I'd love it to be this close the 41.5 figure is shipped ps3 units, x360 has shipped 44.5, but the gap is very small now, and ps3 will overtake x360 when gt5 hits.

Just get a ps3 slim they run much cooler and quieter, my ps3 fatty nearly died on me last year lucky for me I got rid before it was too late
Finally ps3 reliability >> x360 reliability, I have heard horror stories of people getting more than one RROD in a year before the x360s came out (mainly release x360 consoles), you are much better off with ps3.
