I am VERY impressed with the flame/smoke effects, and we all know the lighting engine is great.
I will say, however, that without the glare coming from the bump-mapping, it's surprising to see such a modest poly-count on some of the models.
See? Japanese people DO get excited for Ridge Racer.
If that's your best translation, show me your worst.
Case in point. They didn't just like it, they GUSHED about it. Is there anyone who doesn't see through this?
*WOOSH*
Dyack and Co. knew that by hyping the game so much, actively baiting forum trolls, and then including such lines as "If that's your best, bring on your worst," they could ensure their game immortality as an internet meme.
Damn comedians.
I love my PS3 as much as any of you, but this is not a complete paragraph, let alone an article worthy of N4G.
Yeah, I call Shenanigans on 3.1's tale of $150 repairs after a month.
A) He either voided the warranty somehow (which is pretty hard to do), or he bought a 2-year old PS3 off of eBay a month ago.
B) When my 2-year old PS3 ran into some issues (in which case I suspect my roommate and some beer may have played a large part), I was initially faced with the "Out of warranty" repair charge, but still convinced them to replace it with a new 60GB unit, gratis. ...
Fun fact none the less,
In Japan, X (bantu) is a pretty universal symbol for "wrong". It's why controls in Japanese games on PS2 seem to have O and X mixed up; O confirms, X cancels. In popular usage, folks will sometimes raise their arms in a cross and yell "BANTU!!", as if to indicate "WRONG!!" or "FAIL" (as our own internets is wont to do).
This has indeed been pointed out by Japanese consumers as one reason they shy away f...
Damn, I have to buy another controller? I don't even know where to buy a DOOshock. Maybe it'll be out by oct-TOEEEEE-ber.
Because Japanese guys have a thing for bush (and lots of it). Just like many Western guys prefer shaved.
I bought the game on eBay a week ago for $30 (mint), anticipating a price bump from the trophies. Today, many used copies are going for $40-$45 before shipping.
Could... could Microsoft be running out of money to throw around??
And Carmack said Doom 4 will require "30% more horsepower".
I think all of us here can agree on what that means between the consoles.
This article somehow manages to say exactly nothing.
The story links to the wrong video, whereas in the real segment (E3 Pop Quiz on Kotaku), Simon's response of "not yet" is clearly a joke.
I can't believe stuff like this gets so popular on here. I could link to a random forum, title the story "360 AND PS3 TO TRADE HALO 4 FOR GOD OF WAR 3", and watch the story top these charts.
Was it ever alive?
I'm amazed by some of the sand-vag excuses I'm seeing on the internets...
"gameplay will never look like this CGI!;"
"BUT THE ROOMS WILL TAKE FOREVER TO FILL UP!!!"
"People will be speaking DIFFERENT LANGUAGES!!"
"OMG LAGG I BET THE DEVS NEVER THOUGHT OF TEH LAGG!!"
"THIS LOOKS BAD ANYWAY"
And you know these are the same d-bags that will be bringing XBL r-tard chat to the game as soon as it l...
... that was pretty hilarious.
Though I'm sure WiiMusic will still sell like mad. Finally a game where EVERYONE in the family will look like Grandpa Parkinson's.
If Sony went to all the trouble of hiding these 16 items in the instruction manual, they should probably remain a secret.
