Video games seem like a pretty poor medium to translate cultural values, due to its infancy and poor attempts to reach the lowest common denominator in a global market. Until dev studios stop worrying about profits and start creating games for specific games (not "One FPS to rule them all"), controversy will be inevitably rife.
