So you have done all the Market research. You need to factor in costs and units sold at the higher price. They can always lower the costs. They need to maximise income to repay any loans taken out for R&D. Total demand is based on things not related to price buy quantity demanded is dictated by price.
@Akuma 6 times the power at what financial cost? Use your head for a moment... it needs to be affordable for the consumer and profitable in the long run for the company. Also Software development costs are going to shoot up for Nintendo as top graphics combined with top game play will take a lot of time and money to develop.

The WiiU will have a hard time with full downloads it doesnt have a HDD. I know it supports external HDD but with piracy that is never a good way to store games.
production costs have increased. So obviously it will be more expensive. Why would people expect games to stay the same in price as everything else increases? It's called inflation. gamers need to grow up. Most people need to make more, because the cost of living becomes more expensive.

if the PS3 YLOD you can still have it it in stand by mode, just keep down the eject button with the system in stand by mode to force eject the disk, but you would know that if you read the manual or owned a PS3.
