The majority of gamers that play D2, and will play D3 will use Bnet anyway. Diablo LAN parties are not as common as SC.

Seriously, if you don't like it, don't buy it, its that simple. You can keep playing your L4D1 for as long as you'd like.
Natal is going to be "revolutionary" in the sense that it has the POTENTIAL to bring body controlled games.
However, with the hardware of the 360 in mind, I doubt it can take FULL advangtage of this concept.

But the point is that people who DO want to play LAN WILL be situated together physically and therefore will have the access to the same internet connection.
And I know that latency will be an issue since you ARE going through an external Battlenet server, however, I doubt it will be TOO much of an issue.
As mentioned in the artcle, this is a company trying to make profit here, so its understandable that they would want to protect their own rights by reducing piracy...

Back to the topic, I personally think the PS4 might be a more toned down console and not as "next gen" as the PS3 was, considering how the PS3 has been selling at a loss ever since its launch.
Everyone is appealing to the mass, casual gamer market nowadays and I don't see why Sony wouldn't start to be leani...
They develop this technology for the PC first so obviously PC will and always have dominated the consoles.

Playing through Battlenet might produce slightly higher latency times than on LAN.
But for the reasons stated in this article, I agree that we should have faith in Battlenet.
Also considering that this is the company that runs the largest MMORPG server in the world. People need to get over the fact that times change and so do games.

It's a form of counter treatment in psychology (not sure of the exact name), but I'm guessing it is small electro shocks, which, when administered at the correct timing and in appropriate amounts, can give negative connotations to the brain that it associates to whatever you are trying to treat. (ie. internet addiction)
