With the rumor of "always on" getting so much negative attention. I wouldn't be surprised if this is why it was pushed back. To rethink the idea or maybe get rid of it all together.

The only concern with it coming out in November is limited stock for Christmas. If anyone remembers the ps3/360 launch, you'd either have get an early preorder or wait overnight at launch. Or you got lucky and happen to walk in the exact same day a store got a new shipment.
I'm not saying anyone here will as I'm sure all the hardcore fanatics will be sure to go to whatever lengths to get a copy but that's just how I remember it.
Not enough marketing. The wii was marketed like crazy. I barely see a commercial for the Wii U now. And I'm sure the majority of casual Wii console owners have no idea that the Wii U even exists.

Sony is popular in China/Japan, but not a big as a car industry, etc. There is no way that Japan or China would use their own government money to bail them out

All the rumors build hype, the more hype the more pressure it puts on Microsoft to deliver, which in turn will make a better console
NBA 2k is honestly the only sports game that I can play year around and still have fun with it. 2k has found a way to make the game fun and strongly realistic. I honestly get bored with EA's football games after a month or so, and with football being my favorite sport, it is upsetting.
It has already been reported the James Holmes was obsessed with Guitar Hero. Guess we ought to ban that game too.

Everything this gen looks better with screenshots. The hard part is to make it look just as good with motion.
I mean it looks pretty good far away, but those closeups did not impress me at all. I'm sure Epic can find better artists than this.
