I do modding for some games and 3d modeling by commission and yea actually you tend to have multiple lods in some engines low med and high theres only so much bump displacment and normal maps can do the only way to have high detail cmodels is on the mesh only one game i know had a adaptive mesh and that was lair

Further if they did develop drop in boxes and a modular mainboard connection unless those boards were completly different to pc designs (which given the rest of the system they couldnt be) and priced to match pc components pc user might buy the cheap...

I use my 8 core amd for graphics work mostly not all pcscare built for gaming only
Mines 8350 16 gb ddr3 1600 r9 380 and inuse it to do graphics play kerbal and watch twitch

I have a vert capable pc which is setvup and maintained well and i onl play one game on it granted i enjoy that game because of mod support and thats kerbal space program everthing else is on my ps4 i just find pcs frustrating to game on . especially if problems arise.
