from what ican gather the ai seems to be behavior based with voice tone recognition functionality
and behavior based ai was first introduced, if crudly ,in 1998.
tone based recognition isnt that hard to deal with.
if milo can recognize a joke from a toneless synthaziesed voice, (which it cant) then ill be impressed as it shows cognitive reasoning skills, failing that it is simply a control program that adjusts behaviors which are predefined as a slider scale,
