sure both gets you online, but LIVE is a software and makes PSN looks half-assed. LIVE is way more complete and sophisticated then that beta looking PSN or PSN+

Kokoro looks exactly the same as in DOA4. If this were DOA5, you would expect some sort of different visual style.
