Yeah, I backed at the lowest level when the campaign first launched.
No regrets, as it's just money and I've long forgotten what I even pledged.
It's definitely not a scam; I played the alpha demo's and holy shit even though it was a tiny tiny slice, it was impressive - but no more than a very short tech demo. The problem is, this has become a vanity project for Chris Roberts. Who I think is a raging egomaniac narcissistic surrounded by ...
It's not just about playing with other people (in fact I'd say that is a minor point in the argument), it's about the access / transfer of data and the convenience that brings for people who own games on multiple platforms. Especially games with micro transactions and that are F2P.
So if you play Fortnite on Switch, any items you unlock will not show up on the PS4 version. If you play Destiny 2 or Rocket League on PS4 then those items you've earned do not ap...
@Golby
The whole reason we have console wars is because gamers are tribal and territorial. If you love Halo / Forza / Gears so much that you buy a different console from what all your friends are playing on I doubt you're are going to change any time soon. The edge case you suggest is not a significant number.
Consoles are sold on the strength of the brand - and Sony have built their brand on creating the best 1st party games. Which is reflected in 80...
@Kokyu
Have you even thought through your argument. No one is saying every game has to appear on every platform and have cross play.
The games we are talking about are already multi-platform, so how does having cross-play hurt Sony. People who want to play The Last of Us 2 or Spiderman will not suddenly flock to XBox. That's ridiculous. And people who love Halo / Gears / Forza are still going to buy an Xbox.
BUT, people who are on t...
I agree it is a monetary / business decision for Sony to drag their heels on this. And I agree MS didn't want this last gen when they had a sales lead.
But how does it negatively impact Sony if they add this feature? They won't lose sales. They won't see people jump ship to other consoles. The only negative to Sony is what it might cost to implement the feature - but if Nintendo can do it, I doubt it's rocket science.
I guarantee that if w...
@dreue
Of course this one game isn't worth it. But add in Destiny 2, Rocket League, Fortnite and pretty much every multi-plat game and of course it is worth it. There is no downside to this. If Nintendo can get it working (and their networking prowess has been stone age for years!!) there's no reason for Sony not to.
@Cmv38
Comparing last gen to current is not the point (and for the record I think timed exclusive DLC is bullshit on any platform). T...
I think you're missing part of the point.
For people who play across multiple devices / systems the lack of cross-play is a hassle. Sometimes I play on PC, sometimes PS4 (and other devices) why my progress / inventory / etc don't travel with me is ridiculous. For example, I started playing Destiny 2 on PS4 as it released earlier - but I also picked it up for PC later. Yet they are two independent games.
Plus, many people have friends who don't...
There's some dumb ass comments here!
Why wouldn't a PS4 (or any) gamer want MORE people to play against. Makes for faster match making. Makes for bigger player populations. Makes things more convenient. Cross platform tournaments could be a good thing for bragging rights. Cross platform clans / guilds etc.
It seems ridiculous that people are arguing that they don't want or don't care about cross-platform - when it all it does is make thing...
$250 for the base unit and one module, plus $60 per additional module... And it doesn't allow ROM's... This will either be DOA or incredibly niche and discontinued fairly quickly.
Sony had the better 2018/19 line up of games. But their show was a mess, and the lack of any major surprise was clearly intentional, but hurt them.
MS had a more traditional and well paced E3 show, but they showed the same old games. The big deal of acquiring 5 studios means little at the moment as MS' track record of handling first party studios is mixed at best.
But E3 showed yet again that gamers win. We have a lot of choice - whether it's for ...
Everything MS did was to try and bring them closer to parity with Sony and Nintendo rather than leapfrog them. But I did appreciate the lack of gimmicks and waffle. The number of 'World Premier' trailers was just filler though.
Great, they bought 5 studios. Only 10 years late! And none of them have shown any signs of being in the same league as Nintendo and Sony's best - so they are likely going to need many years to mature.
Great, more Gears,...
Looks like it might be US only, or not yet rolled out for other markets. Not available in UK.
Short, but pretty sweet. A lot of games I want to play.
Strange that they shit on XBox so hard though. Seemed like all but a couple of games were PC / PS4
Anyone angry about BFV including women and prosthetic's in a game is just looking for something to be angry about.
Battlefield has never been a simulation or an accurate depiction of war / combat. Nothing about the game is disrespecting what has gone before.
It's a real shame. The sound design, art design and the general feel of the guns is all world class. It's such a shame that the people in charge of the game direction, story, and game play systems screwed up so badly.
They dumbed down and stripped out so much of the game it just became such a boring, lifeless, insipid experience.
And that's not to mention the ridiculous loot box situation.
On the plus side Bungie are listeni...
Yeah, the games are based on the books.
The devs have done a great job in my opinion of distilling down the essence of the books. Even though I played the games before reading the books, they were still great, and really gave more context to the games and made me appreciate how much the developers captured the details.
I'd also highly recommend the books. They are dense and occasionally dry, but overall phenomenal.
If you prefer audio books get them from Audible, the narration is excellent.
Fun and interesting game - for a while. It just outstayed its welcome and needed to be shorter and more focused.
I would recommend it if you have Game Pass. Maybe not a hidden gem, but worth a look
Love my Switch, and always buy Nintendo consoles Day 1... But No. The Switch is not the best designed.
Power connector on the bottom. Ridiculous for trying to charge it while playing with it undocked. Had a situation recently where we were playing undocked Mario Kart and the battery was about to run out. Rather than being able to hook it up to power and continue we had to stop to allow it to recharge. That's just bad design.
No Bluetooth or mic enable...
Yeah, Arekkz Gaming on YouTube got an early copy from Capcom. He was playing at 1080p with an i9, 32GB and a 1080ti and there were a few micro stutters and even slowdowns here and there.
I wouldn't say it was bad by any means, and it looked like a small detail jump over the PS4 (although hard to tell on YouTube). But I would expect perfectly smooth fps at 1080p with that hardware.
