Because the average person who plays Call of Duty doesn't know who Bobby Kotick, or don't care as long as they get their high of CoD.

I wouldn't say their games suck entirely, rather disappointing.

Going for the Call of Duty crowd syndrome, destroying your favorite game series since 2009.

Compared to what? Other shooters? Don't kid yourself.

Why would they even want to go for Call of Duty's "crown"? They can keep it, and their weak yearly installments, consistently rehashing. They are only given a crown because of the immense popularity and blind followers it represents, and of course because of the sales (which means nothing about a game). I guess sales must mean how well the game is, according to Raven. Oh and also they still play Call of Duty because they don't know any better / blinded and are convinced that it is the only shooter out there that is any good, which is disappointing.

You obviously haven't read the article. The main point of the article was to show everyone that many other games are sexist (at least for today's standards). The creator of the article isn't literally suggesting for people to stop gaming, just shows that other games are guilty of stereotyping that women are usually depicted as "damsels in distress" or men which are usually the heroes that save them.
