@Hicken
Xbox is a service now. It transcends gaming at this moment. And no that doesn't mean the abandon gaming but it isn't the only form of entertainment.
She is a self taught programmer the lady is smart. Sure she isn't a gamer per day but that isn't the direction MS is taking this. Xbox as a service not as hardware.
She was likely picked because she made Windows 7 what it is and the modern UI of Office. She has talent. Als...
@Hicken
There is no damn gaming portion of this company. There is no dedicated role for that. She is the head of hardware and engineering with all hardware based products.
How would a gamer be in that role...
N4G bullshit and people believe anything. She never touched Windows 8... Windows 7 was all her down to UI and features. Also headed up Office.
Why the hell would a gamer be the head of the hardware portion of a damn company???
To judge someone before they even start her position is even worse.
Also why would they have a gamer take over as head of the hardware division?
Give her some time sure she isn't a "gamer" which is really a weird qualification for the position but so what.
I didn't get a PS3 until 2009. So I wasn't into Sony or Microsoft consoles so I wasn't here or anywhere during the beginning of last generation. I was a Nintendo person.
Also I am sure you can agree that some of these articles are clearly either stupid or sad. Sure MS had a bad communication problem I can agree but to claim this generation is over before it started??? That is something I will not do especially when I prefer the One games to the PS4
But Xbox had nothing to do with respect and everything to do with the fact that they couldn't produce any more consoles.
Microsoft can't sneeze without this site spinning it as bad news.
Only stupidity can drive this type of news.

I hate Joel who the hell ruins the world because you lonely without your daughter....
God I love this story
All that is true. But the government also has that access from Google and Apple and other American companies. Honestly there is no privacy in technology as those companies dominate all consumer electronics as well as services.
Living in America there is no liberty after 9/11. Wooo Patriot Act
Benjamin Franklin Said it best when he said, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserves neither."
You're mad at Microsoft and not the government....
i dont think it’s the same.
in one scenario, you are going through people’s stuff to sell them shit, in the other the government of your country demands access to people’s stuff.
I dont think any US based company can say no to the US government.
that said, im not happy about all of this crap but i think if you want to blame someone, it should be the government and not the tech companies. Im pretty sure they have access to everything so you kn...
The article never even said Microsoft said this. It said we will win in this new ear of services... Nothing in regard to the Xbox that was speculation on the writer's behalf.
Yea I know right what the hell are they thinking. It's not like Sony had a $600 console and that in the beginning everyone was saying it was over and turn out to be fine.
How dare Microsoft think they have a chance in a generation for them that starts in four months and will last years.

That's stupid lets disregard hard work or business degrees or whatever just hire a gamer...
Don was a gamer as well. It doesnt matter who you hire this is MS vision of Xbox as a service not just hardware.
The hire is good. She knows how to work you don't need a gamer to run the hardware division of your company...
Everyone who says spy cam I feel are stupid.
You use a phone by either Google Apple or MS you are already profiled.
You use a computer laptop or tablet by them you are being profiled.
Google search? They know your habits.
I just find the spy camera to be the worse argument because if you are truly concerned about your privacy I would suggest throwing away most of your electronics.
I will to spend about a grand this holiday before taxes lol.
System: 500

They would use 11 of the 12 GB of RAM.
HyperVisor allows the Xbox to suspend the OS and use the RAM for games.
So is everyone selling their cellphones and computers. If we are serious about not being spied on I remember Google Facebook Apple on that list as well.
