Nice review man.
I mean, what?
That's something I'm perfectly fine with as I don't review games based on expectations. The critiques justify the score and despite being a fan of the previous games, this needed to be much more than a new gorgeous coat of paint.
Great giveaway guys. Congrats to whoever wins, good luck!
Thanks for reading everyone. If you have any comments, concerns, or feedback, be sure to leave your thoughts here and I'll do my best to respond. As opposed to reacting simply to the score, I encourage you to read through the reviews critiques first.
Funny thing, I took the same direction in my review as well. The game felt like a 9, but the more I played it, the more I realized how stagnant the formula has become.
This is garbage. Gamers obsession with rape culture, misogyny, gender roles etc are ridiculous. Keep trying to focus on this, I'll just enjoy good critical analysis of the actual games.
I have no doubt that it's real, but to that I say that the industry needs thicker skin and should stick to their guns.
Unless they are bone head decisions such as MS's initial XBone design.
Let's be real here, anyone posting here that they feel swindled knew well in advance what they were getting into prior to purchase. You have absolutely no ground to complain about length with that knowledge.
Still the GOAT.
There's a lot I disagree with in your post, but I respect the way you stated it.
What I do agree with is that the XIII games took chances and the sequels all listened to the fans and learned from mistakes. Lightning Returns is full of fan feedback corrections and excellent ideas, that while not all worked, I respect the fact they tried to do something a bit different. And yes, X-2 is still a good game with again, excellent ideas in it.
Far too many RPG...
There's nothing clichéd about 12's story, no clue what you're talking about.
I'm not saying it's good or bad, but it certainly isn't clichéd.
I agree with the Toriyama point, but XIII-2 and Lighting Returns are both solid games. People are far too critical after the original games disaster, but when compared with other modern AAA JRPGs such as Xillia and Ni No Kuni, the XIII sequels are better in nearly every way. Ni No Kuni specifically is so terribly average outside of the visual department and the battle system is mechanically broken.
Saying that, I would prefer if Toriyama never directed another mainline FF ga...
I'm sick of this statement and people writing about it. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A STORY, again, ALWAYS. Since the Genesis vs the SNES. In fact, it was worse at the beginning of the PS360 era.
Don't believe me? Pull some stories out from the industry when the PS3 launched and the subsequent year afterwards, your head will explode.
The point is, just ignore it if you don't like it, but this is a story and the divide is even bigger than at the beginni...
This is an obvious glitch that will be patched pronto.
Yes.
How poorly written can you get?
On topic, Strider is great.
Game was terrible. Should have taken a different approach rather than try and capture what the console games did. The combat etc just didn't fit on the 2D plane. Mark of the Ninja would have been a good idea to copy and add from there.
It's a good game.
Spoken like a true scrub.
