Since when is third party exclusivity new?
I guess the strangest part of the debacle is that Sony insists that its still happening. When is "the right time" for these people?
Pretty legit concerns, id say. Im glad I wasnt the only person who felt Peter Dinklage sounded less than enthused, even for an AI. ("Oh no, its the HIVE!" he said, daydreaming about his paycheck.)
Mass Effect 2/3, Deux Ex series, Diablo, and pretty much every Bethesda RPG are all action. THats just off the top of the head though. We do more Action RPGs than we get credit for. Its just alot of them look the same. Especially in the 80's where everything looked like Ultima, or the 90's where everything looked like Diablo.
Not debating the quality of JRPGs vs WRPGs. Just there are very recognizable ingredients to each unique recipe.
"Creative Director" at Activision Blizzard. Not really sure what that actually means, but so far its meant she runs a video blog about WoW every month.

"Nintendo achieved there highest sales ever of core titles, catering more of there output to the core.
Mario titles sold more, Zelda sold more, smash sold more, even freaking fire emblem sold more."
I'm going to guess were talking about sales on the Wii, considering the context of that particular sub-thread. The Smash Bros. series absolutely had its best outing on the Wii, as Brawl sold 11.4 million copies. The rest of series you mentioned thou...
What are Nintendo "core" titles? Are they first party titles? Are they long running brands?
Welcome to my posts, haha
Honorable Mentions: Auron from Final Fantasy X, Jetstream Sam from Metal Gear Rising
Thanks. I just find it funny that maybe 10 years ago, that sort of conversation never happened. People knew what Mario was about. Explaining it to people who don't is interesting, mostly because of how strange you sound saying it all out loud.
Good read. I think the fear becomes that, like you mentioned, games with models that involved constant patching (anything multiplayer, usually) will become justification for those that shouldn't have that "always expanding" feel. A 16 bit single player platformer should never be in "Early Access," for example.
"orchestrated hate and fear-mongering" may be overstating this a little.
How can they, though, without requiring money upfront?
Nintendo cant half step on this if they really want to improve the brand. We all know enough about Nintendo brands to not need mini games to educate us on the finer parts of Mario, especially if I can't just directly by a full version of said game on the same device.
If Gone Home and Depression Quest's praise is "undue", wouldn't that be you elevating your opinion over others on the Internet?
Gone Home made a great deal of money for a game its size, and that wasn't simply because of Kotaku. People liked Gone Home, and they spread the word to other people who would like Gone Home. Such is the power of any big website with reach, something not exclusive to Kotaku. Kotaku wasn't the only media source singing that g...
