It's probably because of their success that these issues are happening. They've sold faster than even they predicted as they've said and their network wasn't ready. Couple that with trying to supply updates and they've been stretched thin.

It is actually a physical copy and bundles have been proven to sell consoles no matter the discount. Sony has provided a console that people are more willing to buy for $400 than MS and thus can afford to not give out free games. If you're looking for value they have a 2 game (Killzone and Knack possibly?) and a year of PS+ bundle for $450 a man believes he saw and he knows there's an Infamous, Knack, and Killzone bundle for $500
