Yeah what you said makes sense. To me it looks like we have to keep the PS3 disc version of the game to active the PS4 game by putting it into the PS4. There is no way they'll let sell the PS3 disc and keep the digital PS4 copy for just $10.
From what know so far it looks like with the xbox one, they want you to be connected to the cloud, with the PS4 YOU want to connected to it.

I fail to see what is the big deal about it. People are taking this to a whole new level for no reason. Is not like every single console has been backwards compatible at to this point.
