I could had sworn they didn't care about piracy, because they haven't support the system with the least piracy issues, but yet they release all their big titles on the system with the most piracy problems.

It doesn't matter which/what is their main platform. Their games are lacking the quality which made them number one in the RPG market, that's all.

I'll say that's already the case in Japan, at least. Just look at the sales of both hardware and software and lets not forget about the insane support both the PSP and DS are receiving from developers.

Back then Squaresoft and Enix were the biggest and most popular RPG maker around. They also were competing each other and in the process, each of them were trying to out perform the other. That's why the quality of their titles was so good. Once they merged, there was not one to compete with and it became unnecessary to put all the company's resources in one game, when they could be developing ten average games at once.
