That's true. If mario has had such huge success with similar games for so long, the FF series is sure to last at least another 20 years the way it's going.
From either end I think there have been some pretty good games, but what about looking at outside sources to see what the competition is doing to keep on top of innovation. I mean, no single company creates every aspect of the game that comes out of the studio.
How much competition is there really between the Japanese studios and Eidos in NA? I mean it's pretty separate games to be competing with themselves over.

The co-op sparring sounds like a lot of fun, that was always so boring when it was just an AI character. Plus the leagues could be really sweet. Let's just hope the ground game isn't still broken.
