According to Nintendo's listed specifications, available on the Japanese version of Nintendo.com, it's 3-5 hours of gameplay playing a 3DS game, and 5-8 hours playing a DS game.
@Darkblood I mean graphically speaking. The PSP was a huge step up from previous handheld gaming consoles, and was (and is) way above the DS. If the 3DS is not vastly better, graphically (and I don't mean including the whole 3D aspect), than the PSP, then I'd say it failed on some level by not being more powerful than a five-year-old game console. The DSi is essentially the same as the original, now six-year-old DS, and not having a serious jump in graphics when even iPhone games are ...
I wasn't impressed with it at E3 last year either. Even in the poor lighting, my eyes were bothering me after a few minutes and I didn't see any reason to need 3D for the games. And heck, I've had the NVidia 3D Vision glasses before they released, and I still don't get why 3D is so special.
I would only say that the 3DS with 3-5 hours of battery life will not be like the PSP. The PSP came out in 2005 and offered the best graphics on any mobile device to date. The 3DS will not. It will offer, possibly, graphics on-par or slightly better than the PSP, maybe as good as some Wii games, but it won't be revolutionary. Only the 3D aspect will be "revolutionary", and in that, you have to want to play in 3D. I don't know many who do.
Not surprised at the length, but chances are the only upgrade will be...
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
multiplayer. Maybe they could fix the gameplay first, ya know.
Wish I found that. Instead, I'm doing my taxes. MUCH MORE FUN DAMMIT
Hercules in God of War 3 made it even more epic than it should've been. Then I found out it was Kevin Sorbo. That's like having the best cake ever, and finding out after you ate it that it'll also cure aids.
Or something like that.
Yes, in normal. And I never said 8 hours was bad. It may have been the best 8 hours of the damn year.
What, you beat Mass Effect 2 3-4 times already? Don't you do other things?
If my wallet could hurt any more, it would die from being bled dry. Green blood, lovely.
Maybe if you don't have the money...
Exactly. The experience is the most important part, and hell, I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 a ton. But like everyone else, I want to play the "perfect game". Someday it'll happen, and it's our job as consumers and critics to help fix the problems with today's games so that tomorrow's will be better.
If I put that last character in, there would be huge spoilers. In this, nothing is really spoiled that hasn't been put all over the internet already.
And yes, I think Mass Effect 2 is awesome. I just want to make sure game developers keep a high standard, and these crappy parts need to go. Or at least be discussed. I don't know if I'm happy with ammo or not, for instance. But why the hell can't I get my messages instantly?
What makes you think Wrex is playable?
It's been so hard not buying games on Steam, but I've managed to keep enough self control to not buy games I know I'll never play. A man's got to have some dignity.
But damn it is so hard not to press the buy button on some of these deals.
You and me both Bungie. Just picked up SoC a few days ago and I've been playing it on my PS3. Friggin awesome game. Can't believe I could've missed out if I bought a PS3 a few months later.
Not only that, I was able to play Metal Gear Solid for the first time since I never owned a PS1. Now I've got a whole list of PS1 and PS2 games I can play at any time, thanks to backwards compatibility.
That sucks. Shattered Horizon was way better than most made it out to be, but really, everyone who bought it said one thing: where's the single player.
Now they're probably working on it, but it'll be awhile until we see anything. I can't wait to see a campaign for it.
I'm glad the joke went over so well. You know, because Jesus saved the people while Halo saved the Xbox...it's like, I couldn't have asked for a better metaphor while still keeping it humorous.
Oh there are some good ones. A Nintendo fanboy site got ahold of the article and they've been plaguing us ever since. Good times.
