Developers need to offer a greater variety of price points. Sure God of War 3 or Mass Effect 2 should probably be $60 -- they took thousands of man hours to create.
But from a consumer advocacy standpoint, I simply cannot get behind an annual update to Madden costing that much. Also, niche titles could benefit from lower price points. How much better might have a title like Valkyria Chronicles sold if it had been released at $40?
I wish I could go to a parall...
I don't think I'll be getting Move or Kinect at launch. I have all three systems, and I'm just fine with my Wii just the way it is -- didn't buy MotionPlus either.
This is awesome. Another reason Civ 5 is a day-one purchase for me.
Also, why does that guy look so familiar?
Control pads are weird. I've been playing Twilight Princess on the Wii lately, and no matter what I do, the button placement just doesn't feel natural. Having your menus mapped to those tiny "plus" and "minus" buttons is just awful. It's really taking me out of the game.
I can only think of two acceptable video game movies: Silent Hill and Mortal Kombat. And if we're honest, those are only OK.
I find getting into extended fiction tough.
Good read.
I don't have much money now! I tend to savor my games more because of it.
I wish I could go back and play some of my favorite NES games for the first time.
I think JRPGs have always gone hand in hand with anime. I'm not a big anime fan, but I love JRPGs a lot, and I've always be cognizant of the effect anime has on the genre.
And let's not forget that Toriyama did the character designs for Chrono Trigger!
I try not to waste time playing games. That's why I either only play the main quest, or I grab a strategy guide and make sure to get everything on the first run through.
I played Solar Jetman a lot. I don't know if that game was hard or just poorly designed.
I wish more games devs could get a grip on the fact that fail states should encourage the player to get better and try again, not discourage and frustrate.
I like football, but I don't play too many sports games.
I saved all the characters, but some of the QTEs -- or whatever you want to call them -- were pretty clumsy. Overall, I liked the game, but I can see where the author is coming from. There really was no way to discern what prompts were more important than others from the UI.
@MisterNiwa They are a big deal because there are only 100 of them. Which means:
1) They can't do anything extra because that would be an unfair advantage.
2) Because of that, they actually aren't a big deal.
This is one of my favorite columns. Too bad Greg Ford's only got four letters to go.
This is really cool.
No. More. Zombies. Please.
Thanks.
This is a wonderful game.
