I heard a little tease from Critereon that the reason they added bikes into Burnout Paradise, was to experiment for an up and coming Road Rash reboot :P
I'll bark up this tree forever, because I know it's happening!
Actually, I'd say it's just right. Beautiful long roads with lots of pretty things to look at as it wizz'z by is what Hot Pursuit is all about.
It's not the quantity of roads, its the quality :)
The game was clearly rushed out. My guess is the big wigs at F1 were placing on the presure to get it out before the end of the season. As a result, Codemasters glittering reputation was spoilt somewhat by a buggy experience.
I'll forgive, Dirt 3 is on its way after all :)
Yeah, I saw that! I'm very interested :)
... well err, actually it doesn't. It's tongue in cheek, and at all times taking the piss out of it's western competitors. The cheesy one liners, the generic story. All of which contribute to this. I was laughing with it all the way through.
Firmly agree with your answers to 2 and 3 though :)
Yeah, dirty tactics. Hoping to make us buy it naively.
Totally underrated. So awesome!
I think it's a good time to point out that the internet review sites in general is quickly losing their credability. Part due to the fact anyone can call themselves a 'juuurnalist' on the internet, and part due to all the controversy over game reviews released while under sponsership by said game publisher.
It may be fair to say it's cermenting the position of games Magazines as credible sources of review information. After all they're not only funded by t...
I'm always - that friend, because I buy the most games hehe
Based on about 4-5 reviews mind you :P
Translating a number/percentage/stars/grades in to words is more trust worthy to me. Because I don't trust robots.
If I have a human being who plays games like I play games, explaining his/her experience with 'x' game. I feel more comfortable trusting that review (or defying it in some cases).
Shop around for your reviews, in the same sense as you do when you buy games, and you'll have a much broader view of opinions. Take what you like from each :)
...
... If it isn't already.
I bet this is all because they wanted to score it a 7 out of 10. Pathetic how 7 is seen as "Bad" these days. All this Corporate greed has done is made all of us waste time shopping around review sites trying to find one we can trust.
Bethesda can't make games without bugs, yet they expect glittering reviews despite this? I'm on the side with the Journo's here. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? ... Pah!
I still think Dungeon Keeper is the best strategy game I've ever played! I would kill for him to create a new entry of that. Populous and Black and White included. They're such good starting points, and should be brought back for this generation.
Yet Msoft like to do the 'wait and see, then if it takes off, act like it was our idea' more often than not.
I don't mind Sony pushing 3D, but I think they're maybe trying to pioneer the market. Like Sharp and the LCD. Invent it, and the consumers will look to you first.
I'd rather not look goofy. 2D is fine for me.
Quickly becoming my favourite games Magazine. Not really because of reviews, but all the fluff they have surrounding the industry is great, and it makes my brain larger :3
@Tapey @Shadow Flare
If they only mentioned "Racing game" don't forget they also used to make Rollcage. If that were to make a comeback, I'd cry... Because I would be so happy :P
But look at Burnout, all that DLC, so much of it was Free. When I think of Critereon's DLC, I certainly don't think 'greed'.
