Greg Miller from IGN makes one of the best theories imo. What he thinks is gonna happen is that in Arkham Knight, Superman or wonderwoman or someone from the Justice league will swoop on in asking batman if he wants help and he does his old schtick of "no this is my city, get out of here!" Which more or less points to a Justice league game coming out of the Arkham-verse.
