For starters the game industry is a massive industry like all others and trying to grow further. While most of the N4G crowd see games as art the big company CEO see games as money. The fact that online play in the future will be charged monthly seems inevitable and utterly useless.
Warhawk launched an it was 40$ and it was explained by the dev as 20$ for the game and 20$ for multiplayer. I prefer to pay up front rather than be charged constantly for a game I may not be playing ...
I tried to pre-order a copy and the game-stump I usually go to said they had stopped taking pre-orders for Killzone 2. I know its weird conspiracy perhaps, but I'll just wait. I mean you get nothing for pre-ordering and the servers will likely crash.

Both of these methods seem shady to me. This one sends all the heat to the part of the PS3 that is supposed to be the coolest and the other fan test worries me as it could wear out the fan motor. The best and recommended way to clean without worrying about damaging anything is in the PS3s manual. Use a low powered vacuum or if your not sure just hold the vacuum at a distance from the vent.

I called my Gamestop (Canada) and they told me they still had not recieved it but that once they did (they confirmed to me they will get it) because they are in limited quantities they would call people who pre-ordered based on who pre-ordered first.
To be honest this is the first game I've pre-ordered and I placed it on Valentine's Day so I'm not sure if I'll get it.

There's been piracy and game swapping since the beginning of the industry. I recall there was a local store that traded used for used back in the NES days and the industry has only grown since then.
The fact is that there are so many games now that there is no point in buying so many that you will play thru once and then leave on a shelf. Used games give those with tighter budgets the chance to play a title they may not ordinarily like and a chance for those who are disappointed...
