You need to see an eye doctor if you can't pick out the similarities to Gears and Halo.
Finally, Sony's developers have learnt to copy the best from the competition. Many aspects of Starhawk remind one of Gears and Halo.
Frankly though, they should have copied Modern Warfare and Battlefield:Bad Company.
Warhawk was the closest you could get on a console to the Battlefield 2 experience .... without the fancy bells and whistles
There should have been Modern, more realistic equipment, vehicles, nvironments, physics with 32+ pl...
Fantastic ** NEW ** ip for the Ps3.
This diehard Warhawk fanboy will never accept it as a sequel.
SP was unnecessary.
It was more upsetting that Warhawk had no bots for off-line games AND no sprint ability.
Otherwise, MP nirvana.
Correction.
Warhawk is the best online console shooter.
No console shooter can match the excitement and fun of 32 veteran players on large maps with air and land vehicles.
Nothing .... except maybe BF3 when it comes but it'll have gimped maps and only 24 players.
This is not a true Warhawk sequel. It's essentially a new scifi shooter IP.
It should still be a great game though, so long as they have a MP with 32+ players, large maps and plenty of vehicles to wage glorious war.
But it could have been a true Modern Warfare-killer by copying all the goodies from MW2 and BFBC2, instead of Halo & Gears.
Nah
Jet packs are better than Mechs.
You could do so much with a Jet Pack and RPG.
Warhawk gameplay online is easily better than Halo or Modern Warfare. It just didn't have the cool looks, weaponry, environments.
With this new game, they have finally learnt to copy the best from successful games ... in this case Halo.
Well done.
Pity Insomniac didn't do likewise with Resistance 1, 2, or 3, especially by adding vehicles in MP.
But if this was Warhawk 2 ---- a true sequel ---- then they should have ...
A Google/Sony Alliance would be a win win for Playstation.
Better browser, multitude of net applets & services, and better security.
Google will teach Sony a thing or two on securing its servers from hackers.
Variety of vehicles and large open maps
That's what Battlefield is all about.
I'm hoping that DICE don't forget this for the console version.
Oh dear.
None of the current or soon to be released shooters, garnish as much anticipation as Battlefield 3.
Why are there so many gamers still considering these lesser games?
Sheez
Get real
With the state of the world ecomomy, events in Japan, the PSN fiasco .... acquiring another studio will the the last thing on Sony's mind.
And why should they when Sly and Infamous are exclusive to the Ps3, plus Sucker Punch has shown no major interest in developing a multiplat.
No, not the "World's view" but a collection of reviewer's opinion.
I am a super conservative when it comes dealing with serious crimes.
Terminate. Terminate, Terminate.
Fear of definite bodily harm or death works wonders with MINORITY criminal elements, and the MAJORITY of law abiding citizens.
And if the even smaller minority of idiots that aren't scared, will simply receive the ultimate punishment of death and no longer pose a threat to the wellbeing of society.
They choose death....s...
No more Burnout.
Bring us Black 2.
Criterion needs to show us what they can do with a FPS, especially in a large open world and with vehicles.
We already know how good they are at Racers so no more.
Looks like standard scifi shooter stuff here.
Next....
Both look good.
But it's gameplay which will make or break the games.
And BF3 will kick Rage's sorry butt by a country mile.
Many forget that Santa Monica studios were co-developers of Warhawk with Incognito.
Jaffe was still part of Santa Monica studios when Warhawk was being made.
Starhawk is a stupid name.
If it is a sequel then it should be Warhawk 2 or Warhawk: "..insert title.."
No,
TPS with slower moving bulky characters, in futuristic/fantastical environments, with large weaponry, and with a particular type of aiming cross-hairs makes Starhawk ... LIKE .... Gears.
Another one who can't see the obvious.
This doesn't mean the entire game is Gears as it clearly isn't. Sheez.
