What if they announce a worldwide price cut in Paris? If I am not mistaken it is on the same day as Halo 5 launch so saying that the PS4 will be available at 299$ would literally kill that game even before it launched!
I dont think this is a good decision. There are lots of people with slow internet (or no internet at all) and people like me who simply prefer having the retail disc. The more choices, the better. Hopefully with Morpheus Sony makes both digital and retail like they always do.

Yeah I remember reading that too. There was a patent that showed trophies introduction in older PlayStation titles, I dont remember all the details because this patent leaked like 2 years ago or something.

First of all, Morpheus was only a prototype name (like Project Natal with Kinect) so it would have changed over time, and second and most important of all, you need to SELL this product to the normal people who dont give a flying fuck about videogames sites therefore they know nothing about the development process, and to do that you need a simple name and a powerful brand.
So, powerful brand known by anyone on the planet + simple and straight concept name = PlayStation VR.
