Console sales, new game sales, online scubscriptions, and blockbuster exclusives are all statistics that show the X360 has won the current gen by a large margin.
I just think we owe it to ALL manufacturers to let them actually develop the new consoles before we start crowning anyone.
There are no real dev kits. Sony only has a spec sheet and has given devs randomly pieced together PCs. When will the devs actually see something that resembles a console release?
I would love to tie some of the women down and.... nevermind.
This time around its strange.. We're writing off the winner of the current generation, Microsoft, because another company, Sony, has shown us a pretty spec sheet and claims it's going to be a console some day.
It seems like we're just itching so badly for the next gen that we're willing to cheer at anything and jeer at nothing.
Gamers, let's wait until the actual consoles exist and are being demo'd by real people.
So apparently the devs had nothing to go on, but now they have a piece of paper that says "8GB RAM". Gee, really exciting. What exactly should they do with that piece of paper, Sony? Make the console for you?
LOL, well even I could right a spec sheet that theoretically has no performance bottlenecks.... Sony, can you actually make the console finally?
It's a Monster Hunter clone. Welcome to 2013. Quit living off of the past and history.
As crappy as the Vita is, its insane how crappy the Wii U is. It's a new console that couldn't even compete in the current generation, despite launching near the end of life of the other consoles.
Nintendo.. Why???
Considering EA is involved with Battlefield 3 and 4... I agree, they DEFINATELY can do better.
Consider this: The PS4's issues will likely hurt sales due to word of mouth reviews. An expensive launch event will at least help sell the console BEFORE the poor reviews and hardware issues become apparent. It makes sense for Sony to make this investment in the launch event.
Remember... The console is still just a SPEC sheet. They don't have much time to turn a spec sheet into actual hardware, so you can be sure it won't be reliable when it arrives.
BL2 wasn't exactly a memorable game. I don't think a discounted price will change that.
Why not just buy games new? If you can't buy games new then you can't afford a console in the first place. The end.
Seriously though - do you buy food used? Toilet paper used? No, you're smart enough to buy new, don't forget that when it comes to video games.
So did my parents.
Microsoft has proven itself a fair and valuable player in the industry. As gamers, we OWE it to them to react more civilized than we are.
Its 2013, time to move with the times. Always-on is what will give gamers a full home experience 24 hours a day. I'm not surprised Microsoft is the first company willing to take the risk, and they'll reap the rewards later on.
COD has already set itself in stone as the great shooter of all time. I'll buy BF4 because I love shooters but we need to stay honest here: it cannot complete with COD. The end.
The PS4 continues to struggle in the media. I don't think the actual console can fare much better.
I still love the idea of a required internet connection. It's 2013 and we need to quit being limited by the people who refuse to change with technology.
The next xbox will win? Let's see, its up against an already failed Wii U and Sony's offering which is just an expensive blu-ray player.
Gee, ya think the xbox will win?
Frickin MS always steals the show. I got a feeling a special HDMI port is the least of the surprises they'll bring. I guess I don't mind.
