But 3 days is nothing, considering i've waited many yrs, 3 days will fly by as im going to be playing some Black ops.

Most big retailers had 2009 release date which wasn't even confirmed by anyone. So this 2011 date could easily be another mistake.
I dont think GT5 will come out in 2011, although it seems like most people are thinking it will.
People think Black Ops and Gran Turismo 5 have nothing to do with eachother.
People like me who like both Racing and First Person Shooters will most likely buy GT5 and COD Black Ops. And considering Assassins creed Brotherhood is just a couple of weeks after, i will be spending lots of money in November.

It was delayed in Japan ONCE. Which was in March, November was the official and first release date which now has been delayed.
If you don't live in Japan, it's only been delayed once.
You don't HAVE to be a fanboy to be patient. Some people have other games to play, like i'm currently playing Dragon Age Origins trying to complete it. Although i want GT5 as much as everyone else, i am a patient person. And when i feel like playing some Gran Turismo, i play GT5P.
That's me, and probably lots of other people.
And GT5 being a racing game, it will definitely attract those mom and dads to get it for their son/daughter.
But if they miss that window, they have Boxing day in UK, which is equally as crazy. So if they do miss that, they should REALLY consider bringing out before boxing day in UK.
I run around shops myself and try and grab as much as i can (i live in England).

This is the first delay for everyone except Japan.
Ofcourse delays are a pain in the a$$, but a release date near Black Ops is not wise. Closer to christmas and further from COD is the key for games to sell. I think atleast...

on to your comment, PD has taken each car and then done them. Earlier this yr i went to a GT5 showcase (in japan) and i stayed behind a while and they were doing the interior for the new mercedes, taking LOADS of photos of the car.

Actually, it should have been announced. There just was no release date. I am a huge fan of Gran Turismo also, i dont want to wait, but i will wait. I am not happy, but i will be patient
