Am I correct in saying vertical is better? Like, more heat can radiate away due to a lager surface area being exposed, as apposed to 1/3 of the console facing down. Or do the little 'feet' that elevate the PS4 make up for it?

Stop bringing up the rechargeable pack. Saying it's only $X or £X, and that it's reusable. No. The point is you don't have to pay X with the PS4. What the don't show here is: Rain, Physics on ALL the plants, Volumetric fog, godrays, translucency in water and sails and plants, they don't show a LOCKED 30FPS rather than a choppy 30FPS,
What's happened here, is that the PS4 version's brightness has been put too high, so the colours look messed up, there fore, it makes the comparison look terrible. Having seen this first hand on the PS4, and then having seen on PS3, the difference if far more significant. Furthermore, a cut scene is a bad example as it doesn't show anything off. Get into the lush jungle, and show off the physics. Or get into a heavy storm and show the difference in rain, and how the rain looks on ...
You can, but if you install, you still need the disk for varification.
