I was also surprised to see the advertising for the new price drop of the elite, but no PS3 slim in sight. But they did have some big advertising on both BestBuy.ca and FutureShop.ca shortly after GamesCon announcement of the price drop and new slim models which stayed there until this week.
Looking at the flyer it says its for price up until september 3rd, so like other people mentionned they are probably going to put it in next week flyer (if it doesnt and we still see the MS...

I was hoping with the blu-ray that I can now play FFXIII in japanese with sub-title like I am playing Disgaea3. In the PS1 or PS2 days this was a bit harder to do as space was more limited, but now with either single or dual layer BR disc this shouldnt be too much of a problem (25gb or 50gb disc).
Maybe the asia (china/hong-kong/korea) release will get japanese with english sub-title?

Yes you miss the story about the new post for the alleged insider Super_Secret who said that the cross ingame chat was being put on hold indefinately due to some threat from EA. And since the time people heard those rumours they have been an uproar against EA.
They are 2 reasons for this low amount of PS3 beside people waiting for the slim.
1 - Stock for the "fat" has been drying up since several weeks (this has been reported on a few web site before GamesCon)
2 - The old "fat" in Japan hasn't been reduce in price, so you either pay the old price or wait about a week for the slim at a cheaper price (I dunno why Japan didn't get a price cut for the old one).

Indeed its sad, but not unexpected. If we look at previous mature new IP game from third party they have done terribly on the Wii. MadWorld and No More Heroes comes to mind.
Each time peoples have great hope for those new promising title, but it seems the consummer market arent interested.

I hope NIS America will do it, from what they say in the article is that they were looking into it but no promise of releasing it yet.
We probably going to hear more about it at the end of the summer or during this fall if they bring it or not. Probably with a 2010 release date. Dont think they will do a translation that quick.

Does anyone know when this bundle will be available and is it only BestBuy in US? I just check the Best Buy flyer in Canada for this week and the bundle they are doing (not an official one) is to pack MGS4 and Resistance 1, which is also a good bundle imho.

Well it seems they are going backward, so maybe they wil drop Blu-Ray and say it will be the PS3 Go, yah that also mean no more HDD but instead 16gb of flash. They could also remove some RAM or remove one of the SPU (currently they have 7 SPU in the cell and 6 are available to developer). Then they could make it cheaper this way...

You can go on the PSP Store from the PC, unless they remove this? It just recently that they allow you to connect directly on the PSN from the PSP itself. It will be silly to not allow people to get their content via a PC. It would be like Apple require to have a Mac to use iTunes to download stuff on your iPod.

I think someone will get in trouble... normally divulging those kind of information will goes against the NDA that normally developer sign with SONY. Even he didnt give out too much details, he still mention that it will be in a month or so and that its also exists. Which afaik SONY never officialy talk about 2.7 yet.
Damn you SONY where are my JRPG... I got alot of great one running on my PS3... But they are PS2 games..
So far the only one that made JRPG are the more niche one like NIS (Disagea 3, X-Edge). From Software Demon Soul hardly some big title. The only big one so far has been White Knight Chronicle from Level 5 and Eternal Sonata from Namco/Bandai (which X360 have enjoy 1 year before).

I am glad to see someone posted this story about the game that my friend at Jungle of Sharks have developed. I also participate in the development of this game as I did additional programming in it.
