There's no reason for something playable with standard controls to not work on it, but playing something requiring the Wiimote + Nunchuck on that tiny screen would probably be more of a hassle than anything.
What I'm really hoping for is VC games to be playable on the Pad.
Not to mention Europeans.
@Darthv72
That's one way to look at it. Although wouldn't it be all the better if you achieved maximum resolution without breaking a sweat? It means that the console has a lot more to go on.
@DeadlyFire
"I see 6 disagrees and not one trying to say anything about why."
You've been here over 2000 days. You know how this works.
I didn't disagree with you, but at best I think 1600p will be to next gen wh...
That's just the date of the article and author's name which made its way into the headline.
I've said it before (in the article CouldHaveYelledUiiW linked to actually), but I want a 1st person/3rd person hybrid where you can choose for yourself how to play through it. And none of that 'Galactic Federation swooping in and taking over' crap, though I wouldn't mind seeing some other hunters appearing.
If they're planning on making a cinematic or story heavy game next, then for the love of poor Samus, keep Sakamoto out of it. I like Other M, but the ...
@bothebo
Really? It went over MY head? I just made an obvious joke about the misconception that Nintendo doesn't make new games. You really think I believe he's played SMB for 26 years?
Well, I think it's time you buy a new game, then.
I agree. Not to mention that the game probably won't be released in other regions before the Wii U launches.
It'd seem less like an all-star fighter and more of a crossover fighter, I'd say.
One or two Namco characters wouldn't be too shabby. I'd like to see Klonoa and Pacman or a Tales character.
@Sugreev2001
The General can come off as a little eccentric, but I think his enthusiasm for Nintendo is actually very refreshing in a time where they seem to get criticised solely for being in the business. And he does it all without putting down the other two, which is more than most can claim.
Monolith, too. They reportedly have an unannounced game in development for the Wii U, and they aren't ones to revisit old franchises.
That would be a huge aquisition for the Wii U in Japan, but if it's Monster Hunter I'd bet on it being a port at best. It'd still kill, though.
"Does it make a better game to be better funded? Yes."
Did you play Braid? I'm sure you did. It's one of the best games I've played, developed by one man with a cost of $200K. There's a lot of indie games which have made a name for themselves on quality alone. Needless to say, they aren't big budget games. Just because a game is suddenly released by a big publisher it doesn't need millions of dollars in funds to be good.
You ...
I'm still kinda on the fence for this one, but the positive feedback it got post E3 has got me cautiously optimistic.
The thing I hate the most though is that it was THE game for Nintendo to end their conference with. If they flipped it around and started with this and ended with Pikmin the game would probably be better recieved.
@philpee2
I'm talking about their gaming divisions, not the company as a whole. While MS is better off than Sony it doesn't change the fact that their gaming division isn't doing nearly as hot as the rest of the company.
Nintendo is gaming only so for them it's do or die, which up until last fiscal year was pretty much stuck on 'do'. SCE and Microsoft Studios are small parts of the entire company, and if their mother company decides that it'...
Yeah, IGN didn't have enough money so they could only get a beta version.
I want those. Especially the ChuChu Rocket Dreamcast, One Piece PS3 and Zelda 3DS.
That doesn't sound like such a good idea. I remember that when the Smash Bros. Dojo revealed everything about Brawl beforehand it took away the joy of discovering the game's secrets.
I hope that doesn't happen to PSABR.
Smash Bros. will succeed even without these changes being made, but most of them would definitely improve the next installments.
I don't agree that the Melee glitches were as game-breaking as the article says, though. Everyone is free to manipulate them, and is not any different from learning how to effectively use a characters moveset. I didn't even know about them when I first started playing Melee, but after a year or so of religously playing the game I read about ...
The sarcasm is strong with this one.
