Thanks everyone for commenting. I think the general consensus is that this game is faring much better with gamers than most reviewers have said. As I said in my review, I found it to be terrific fun, so, I gave it a good score. I think its been put down a lot more than it deserved and I think Cerny did a great job for a launch title. I did three playthroughs in one weekend to get the platinum, one on normal (for diamonds), one on hard (trophy) and the final on very hard (trophy and platinum)....
Definitely agree, many reviewers have given it a far lower score than it deserves. That being said, a $40 price point would have been a better option. However, if it was at that price, I probably would have bumped it to a 9-9.2 out of 10. I enjoyed it so much and I think my score was pretty fair :)
Totally agree, the game/story are both fantastic and the bugs are annoying, but, in the end, you learn to ignore them to enjoy an otherwise great little title!
That's actually a great way of describing it! It is a solid, fantastic looking title, however, it has a shortage of content. Great description :)
In terms of the microtransactions, yes, I am not a fan of those at all (and I haven't bought any of them in the course of play), however, as far as racing games go, this is probably the best looking one yet. It might be light on content, but the content that is there is solid and the game performs well overall. Thanks for commenting though, I love hearing other people's opinions :)
I appreciate your opinion, and I can see where you are coming from, however, I think it is definitely a very impressive racer and a fantastic launch title, so, I decided to award it that score. After more play, I began to lean towards 9/10, however, I don't change the scores after the initial review goes up. The content is a bit lacking after a lot of play; I agree with you there :)
Definitely, it was my first personal platinum on the PS4! I played it for hours and hours above the other launch titles :)
Completely agree with you! It's one of the more unique styles of game we don't get to enjoy often.
Loving it myself, its something fresh and unique that lets you relax and enjoy the story often during play.
Apologies, as mentioned over on the FIFA article, it was a typo and the actual score for FIFA was intended to be a 9/10.
PES is EXTREMELY lacking on game modes, and I found the range of experiences in the game pretty boring in comparison to the various different modes in FIFA. The lack of a career mode is a HUGE factor in that.
Again, that is just my opinion, so, feel free to disagree, but, I thoroughly enjoyed FIFA, far more so than PES. I think you will fin...
Obviously I do not mean stick people. I mean the improvement in graphics based on FIFA 13. I do not feel it was of major importance to fans of the series, especially on the current gen consoles. The game looks stunning on next generation, so, I felt the current generation was improved as much as possible while still using the current generation engine. There is only a certain amount you can improve.
I stand by the 9/10 score, the graphics are good (not great) but I don't ...
I personally didn't find the graphics being anywhere near that bad, they looked fine to me. You may be doing by the demo (I don't know if you tried the full game) but it has much improved from its performance.
The gameplay modes are great, and a lot of effort has gone into expanding them. PES is very, very skimpy on modes. Graphics in FIFA, I don't think are the biggest concern, especially with fans. The most important aspects are the physics (which are getting be...
Apologies about this, the score was incorrectly typed in both the review and this listing by the person who published the article. When I told them the score to add to the article for my review, they misread it, and entered a 9.8, sorry about that. An 8.8 was intended, but, after reconsidering and playing for a longer period, I will bump it to a 9.
You don't get this level of quality on an internet walkthrough. There is just something nice about having a printed guide physically in front of you.
I think it is far easier to have a paper book in front of you, rather than going to a tablet of phone for help with games. For a game like GTAV, its not really a case of looking for help, its a case that you will need to be told that X exists, because you'd miss a lot of stuff otherwise :)
I am happy to report that I had no such issue whatsoever with this guide. You should trust Brady Games; their guides are always very high in quality (I have about 30 of them sitting on the shelf) and I have never seen any smudging. As a matter of fact, I have never seen any printing defect in any of them!
No worries, happy to provide!
Thanks! The installed size on my console is a reasonable 2094MB :)
Thanks to all who approved :)
Thanks for the approvals all! :)
