For sure, LittleBigPlanet's textures are out of this world. But in any case, it's too early for us to be making any definite conclusions, seeing as neither game is out yet.
Like I said, they are all very different in design and scope.
LittleBigPlanet's camera is relatively simple, it just pans around in two dimensions, zooms in and out. Backgrounds are done in several parallax-like layers and there's no need for great drawing distances. Because of that clever setup and the fact that there are rarely huge amounts of objects on screen, they can be fairly detailed and there's still plenty of processing power left for physics, fancy effects and filters....
Rare owns the IP and Microsoft owns Rare. So no, sorry.
Oh, that. Yeah, you're right, they are adding something in that area.
It's quite comparable to both of those games, especially considering that they're all very different in design and scope. All three look fantastic and I'd also add SMG to the mix. Not everything is in raw power.
Definitely not gameplay, and graphics are in HD, but apart from that I have no idea. Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie XBLA ports aren't handled by Rare, by the way.
This comments section is full of baseless FUD, but I'd just like to point out that Earth Defense Force 2017 wasn't a PS2 port, it was a completely new game in the series.
Should be Multi, it's also coming to Xbox 360. I'm very much looking forward to it, considering Ragnar Tornquist is involved.
When people say Killzone 2 looks a bit generic, I don't think they're talking about its level design or art direction (which I think is fantastic, even though I understand why some might be put off by another gray/brown game), but its gameplay.
Why was my comment deleted? I said nothing that wasn't absolutely true, various press outlets said Killzone 2 looked somewhat generic. For instance, Edge said it lacked originality ( "The game takes no risks, neither in design nor tone. The explosive barrels, the crate-filled warehouse, the vision blur as damage is incurred, scripted sequences of Helghast fast-roping through roof-lights, the lights that blow out when shot at, the brightly colored wireframe boxes that show the locations o...
The only thing that is horrible, awful, lame, hideous, clunky, ugly, pretentious, and most of all, embarrassing is that article.
It was like that ever since the game was first announced and they explained the game might or might not come out for the PS3 eventually.
We might get the third one in several years. Frederick Raynal is currently working on a Michel Ancel project at Ubisoft (possibly BG&E2?) and he hopes he'll be able to get the LBA3 project running once he's done with that.
Those lists usually suck, but this one is surprisingly good.
2006? Oh N4G...
It's not the same genre as NG2 and DMC4, it's not even trying to be.
Wow. I think you're in the wrong zone, pardner.
Nope, you are completely wrong on that one. Here's a snippet on Infinite Undiscovery from GameSpot:
"The genre is of an action RPG, and they've brought up the action even more than the RPGs that tri-Ace has produced on the PS2 and other systems to date.
They built a new engine from the ground up which will enable them to express things that they've never been able to before."
Neither IU nor SO4 use UE3 technology, as you can see from this offic...
